Luftig: Nonnensteig Klettersteig C/D im Zittauer Gebirge, Oberlausitz

Today we're heading to Upper Lusatia, to the Zittau Mountains, to one of the longest via ferratas in Saxony: the Nonnensteig via ferrata, category C/D. Thanks to its incredibly beautiful scenery and the summit restaurant, it's a great day trip, and correspondingly busy on weekends. The via ferrata is almost entirely category A/B, but due to two key sections in categories C/D, it's not necessarily suitable for beginners, though doable – as the most difficult section can be shortened with an emergency exit if needed. A head for heights is definitely required, as one section is quite exposed. Vertical passages, ladders, and even two bridges (Saarbrücken) await you on this via ferrata in the heart of Saxony.
