CASSINO - COMBAT FILM

In 1994, right on the 50th anniversary of the Italian Campaign, RAI broadcast Roberto Olla's Combat Films, a series of previously unreleased documentaries that Olla unearthed in the Washington archives, finding the original reels made by US Army cameramen. More than 25 years have passed since those broadcasts, and the Combat films are now seen in almost all RAI and Istituto LUCE documentaries, but at the time, they were a breath of fresh air for us researchers. The episodes were subsequently distributed on newsstands in 24 VHS tapes, and a few years later, 12 episodes on 6 DVDs, including this one dedicated to Cassino.
