We also took a drone flight to observe how these important canals are gradually becoming connected. Accompanied by our friend Domingo, we explored the area at sunset, just before the rain arrived, documenting the current state of the lake and the work being done by temporary employment programs and the State Government. We also discussed a crucial issue for the future of Lake Pátzcuaro: the need for a water treatment plant to help conserve this vital ecosystem.
