In ths 2024 Christmas production, we get the Grinch, dancers, pop culture quizzes, geckos, emotional music swells, and somewhere in between, John chapter 1. What’s presented as a celebration of the incarnation often feels more like a Christmas blockbuster where Christ plays a supporting role to theatrical flair and sentimental manipulation. In this video, we’ll walk through how eternal truths like the Word made flesh, God’s glory, and salvation by grace alone get diluted by entertainment-driven preaching, altar-less altar calls, and a steady diet of “ditzy joy” without any reverence. Let’s talk about why Christmas doesn’t need gimmicks, why the Gospel doesn’t need props, and why the main attraction should still be Christ—even if the seats aren’t full.
