Madoka Magica OST - Sis puella magica! [Vocal - Flute - Piano - Guitar]

New Madoka Magica band cover! I wanted to cover this song after my Decretum video took off last year, but I was not completely sure about if I could pull it off properly. Originally I intended to make it flute only, but it quickly became apparent that the vocals were essential for this piece. It was not until this year when I realized that perhaps I could make a choral arrangement for it with the help of my sister. We are not professional singers, that is for sure, but the choral arrangement helps to make up for it. It consists of a 4-part harmony, which was not too hard to write since I took two of them from the original song, and just added a lower octave and its third above. I like that the result is a very thick and punchy sound. Yes, I think that it gives a somewhat different vibe than the one from the original song, but hopefully that difference is a plus in the context of a cover. Also, this time around I spent the time to learn some basics about lighting and filming, so you should notice a considerable quality improvement in the videography. I'm supper happy that my friend Maletinck finally was able to record with me in person. He not only played the guitar, but he was also a second brain for me in the process of making this video.
