【Pokémon Heartgold】Pokémon Trainer Red Battle - Grass Monotype

Yeah, arguably the scariest battle of the run. I leveled everyone by spam fighting Brock before midnight came but that was still wasn't enough to prevent wipe scenarios. I'm glad everyone got to contribute even if things fell apart pretty fast. I made a huge blunder not sending in Belladonna against Venusaur to use Weather Ball since I think if I had done that then I wouldn't have needed to needlessly sacrifice Soleil the way I did. Frankly, I forgot that Red's Snorlax packs freaking Blizzard so that took me off guard since Truffles was my wincon. But... then Rosemary does what she has always done best since the beginning with sticking through till the very end. Even with the fact that she was nerfed by needing Rock Climb (had to drop Seed Bomb) to even get us to the summit she still managed to defeat Snorlax and Blastoise all by herself while braving through those Blizzards which is honestly something I've never had happen in any playthrough before. I think there's something poetic about her shouldering that burden to get us to the summit and it being what ultimately won us the battle. She spent the entire run in the background setting screens, healing, holding the line, letting everyone else shine. She basically went from "I'll help everyone succeed" to "Fine. I'll do it myself" (tbh fitting for her nature and characteristic). I dunno just seeing the partner who was always there for everything, was never the strongest fighter, but had quietly carried and enabled the team for dozens and dozens of hours, refuse to give up brought a tear to my eye. In my head I'm just imagining her constantly getting battered and just getting back up over and over to a point where even Red is even more at a loss for words. I had debated bringing Celebi, Tangrowth and my Jumpluff but ultimately decided I needed as much firepower as possible since Red also just goes all out with the attacks he uses. Genuinely I'd been debating dropping Dual Screens and I'm so glad I didn't. Overall, this entire challenge run has stood out for a lot of insane moments and helped me find love for a lot of Pokémon I'd always known but never appreciated as much as I do now. I honestly just do these for fun rather than for the challenge itself because I love to experience these games from a different perspective each time and craft a story for me and the Pokémon along the way. Even when I do other challenges and things in the future, I won't forget this one and will definitely be bringing them all of these friends into Pokémon Home. Not sure if anyone even will watch these in the future, but if you do: thanks and I suggest you do runs like these yourself~ 00:00 Pokémon Trainer Red Battle 17:47 The End #pokemon
