A Trip to Remember: Team Panic Stations on the Fitzroy 🎣🏆

The journey from the NT to Queensland for the Fitzroy River Barra Bash was a massive milestone for team Panic Stations were fortunate enough to walk away with the win and a new competition record. Follow along as we do a full walk through on the travel from Darwin N.T to Rockhampton in QLD. We talk about every experience and close encounter before and during the Fitzroy Barra Bash which is a three-day Competitions held on the mighty Fitzroy System. The Highlights: 43 meter fish landed during the comp and 67 for the trip. New PBs: 128cm for myself and 123cm for Terry. Our 4.5m Polycraft and 60hp Yamaha officially hit 1,000 hours on this trip. We relied on Abu Garcia Revo Beast baitcasters and a dual Simrad ActiveTarget setup on Rob Payne poles (one for tracking fish, one for depth). For lures, our own Panic Stations Mullet and the Fuse Seducer Mullets were the standouts. When things got serious at the side of the boat, the Big River Dong Net was essential for safely landing those 40+ giants. Huge thanks to Ash, Finn, and Terry’s family for making the trip across and one to remember! Enjoy!
