Thank you so much. https://www.buymeacoffee.com/shadowing_b 00:00 Intro 00:03 I actually went to two different secondary schools 00:29 because my family moved location whilst I was at secondary. 00:59 And then I also went to a sixth form college 01:22 which is the final two years of 01:45 formal education before degree level—certainly in the UK. 02:13 So, really, I had 02:22 quite a varied experience: three different secondary schools, effectively. 02:54 The first one was a very big school that had 03:15 students from the age of 11 right the way up to 18. 03:42 And I was quite a small 11-year-old 03:59 and I felt quite overwhelmed, to be honest, by the number of people, 04:26 the size of the buildings, 04:42 the… the masses of people kind of running around, going from lesson to lesson, the noise. 05:19 It was certainly an experience that I haven't forgotten as an 11-year-old 05:53 going into that secondary school environment because it was so different. 06:24 The subjects that I enjoyed at school, 06:42 I guess, were… Uh I… I kind of enjoyed 07:01 most of the subjects. I was keen on PE. 07:23 I enjoyed languages, 07:41 arts, 07:49 humanities. I wasn't so keen on geography, but I liked history, 08:20 sciences, I had a really fantastic biology teacher. 08:45 And always, if you have a great teacher, 09:03 that's, you know, going to make your learning experience very different and 09:33 probably make you feel more positively about certain subjects as well. 10:02 In the second secondary school that I went to, 10:22 I think there was more of a focus on academic achievement, 10:49 wh-which was fine for me and that things were a little bit more settled, a bit less noisy. 11:32 And then at the sixth form college where I studied French, 11:58 German and art with art history, 12:20 that was great because it was kind of a step up from being at secondary school.
