Dr. Serdar, a surgeon, works both in the minefield with a group of civilian volunteers and at the local health clinic. Narin Bulut, who is not yet eighteen, has been married to Mustafa Bulut for over a year. Mustafa turns out to be Narin's first cousin, which is why she refuses to accept him as her husband. Mustafa is epileptic and obsessed with Narin, to the point of abusing her when his feelings are not reciprocated. Mayor Aslan Bulut, Mustafa's father, blames Narin for driving his son to the brink of madness since his arrival at the mansion, so he and his wife force him to remarry Asiye. During the wedding, everything spirals out of control when Mustafa shoots Narin. The young woman is saved by Serdar, who was present at the celebration. The doctor, upon learning of Narin's plight and Mustafa's unhealthy obsession with her, becomes involved in order to help her. The story revolves around Mustafa's failed attempts to claim Narin's love.
