Irish Ghost Stories for Sleep - Vol. 65 (No Ads, No Music) 👻
Settle in for over an hour of slow, whispered ghost stories drawn from the darker and more traditional corners of Irish folklore, told for the quiet hours when the countryside falls still, the fire burns low, and sleep comes easier with a calm voice in the dark. In this sixty-fifth volume, we begin with a fireside telling of the Hawthorn Tree, where Sean Óg gathers children and adults alike to explain the deep importance of these trees in Irish folklore, and why some things in this world are best left untouched. Next comes Young Darragh Rua, a local legend surrounding an old asylum said to stand in darkness, except for a single light that appears when it shouldn’t. Those who know the story say it belongs to a boy who never truly left. Then you’ll hear Nest Egg, where a woman takes a coin from a grave, believing it might bring her good fortune. At first, it seems to work, but the return she receives quickly grows beyond her control, and the cost of it begins to show. Finally, Candles in the Bothy, where two friends set out for a night of drink and laughter in a remote shelter said to be haunted. As candles are lit and stories begin, it becomes clear that the light around them knows far more about their past than they expected. There’s no music, no ads, and nothing to disturb the silence but the stories themselves. If you’re here for folklore, quiet dread, or a gentle voice to help you sleep — you’ve found your place.
