Barbie Pillowcase Dress | DIY Easy Doll Clothes

✨Intended for adult collectors of 1:6 scale miniatures. Not intended for children.✨ In this video, I make a Barbie pillowcase dress from scratch. I start by drafting the pattern with measurements on paper, then sew the dress so you can follow along easily. It is hand sewn using backstitch for side seams and running stitch for all hems, but a sewing machine can also be used or your preferred stitches. This tiny dress works for both standard Barbie and curvy Barbie dolls. Measurements are shown during the video so you can pause and copy them as you go. You can also adjust sizing slightly depending on the doll or your preferred fit. A thinner woven cotton fabric gathers more at the top, like with the yellow dress. 📌 I used a small amount of fabric glue along seam edges to prevent fraying since I already had it on hand, but you can use your preferred method or product instead. 📌 Feel free to use your preferred sewing and finishing methods. I’m simply sharing what works best for me in this project. 📋 Materials used: 🧷 You can use a sewing machine, I just chose to sew by hand. Paper Pencil Ruler Scissors Something to help draw a curve (optional) Sewing needle Thread Fabric scissors Fabric glue (optional, to prevent fabric from fraying) Fabric pins Woven cotton fabric 1/8” wide double-faced satin ribbon (20” of length or to your preferred length, can also use elastic or fabric) Pinking shears (or zig-zag stitch, overlock stitch, fray check, or fabric glue to prevent fraying on woven fabric) Tapestry needle (optional, to thread ribbon through casing) Pressing roller (optional, to press down hems and seams) 🌟 The above is the list of the materials used, but don’t feel limited by the list!
