Fui a la casa de MI ABUELO en POLONIA (Ocupada por los nazis) | Opole Lubelskie
In 1942, my great-grandparents and aunts were deported from their home in Opole Lubelskie, Poland, to the Sobibor concentration camp (very close to the Ukrainian border). There, they were murdered in the gas chambers, along with all the Jews from their village. My grandfather and two of his brothers escaped; one of them died in Uzbekistan; my other uncle eventually made it to the United States, and my grandfather came to Argentina. The house where my ancestors lived is intact. Despite the street names changing, I managed to find it and wanted to enter, 80 years after it was usurped by the Nazis and my family was massacred.
