Madlanga Commission hears evidence linked to Ekurhuleni deals

The Madlanga Commission has heard evidence from Medicare24 CEO Michael van Wyk. It was read in his absence, after a request to postpone his appearance was granted. The commission accepted that he wasn’t in a position to testify, following an affidavit from his psychiatrist. He has been linked to questionable deals in the City of Ekurhuleni. Previous testimony tied Van Wyk to alleged crime boss Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and suspended Deputy EMPD head Julius Mkhwanazi.
