As I have stated several times, in a case where a captain is charged with negligent homicide, it is understandable that the lawyer would formulate a defense strategy aimed at mitigating the captain's sentence. They may be aiming for an acquittal by arguing for "no fault." However, if the Communist Party were to be pleased with such an outcome, the damage to the Communist Party and the peace movement would be immeasurable. Rather than focusing solely on protecting the captain, what the Communist Party can do now is to incorporate into their defense strategy how to protect the peace movement.
