Exploring a new area in the Landes region, my primary goal was to find an effective technique for catching fish, even when traditional lures weren't producing the desired results. I'll show you the flies I use, the retrieves that work, my tips for beginners and those looking to improve, and my approach to this type of river. But the session didn't go as planned… While I was simply targeting perch, a wonderful surprise completely changed the day: a magnificent pike, likely an Aquitaine pike according to the Landes fishing association.
