this yarn hoard might sink the whole project
Join this channel to get access to perks: / @ashlg This second video continues my slow, realistic craft room tidy as I work through the ongoing process of reclaiming my workroom after a long break, with a particular focus on sorting my yarn stash and clearing my computer desk. From untangling years of accumulated knitting and crochet yarn to creating a more functional space for planning, editing, and project work, this episode is about reducing overwhelm and making room for creativity to return gently. If you enjoy calm craft room clean with me videos, yarn organisation, studio resets, and slow crafting after burnout, I hope this offers quiet motivation as the workroom comes back together. In this episode, I continue the craft room tidy and studio reset, but with a particular focus on two areas that have quietly spiralled out of control: my yarn stash and my computer desk. Both are central to how I work, and both had become overwhelming in very different ways. I spend time sorting, untangling, and reassessing years of accumulated yarn — knitting yarn, crochet yarn, odd balls from half-finished projects, and fibres saved with good intentions. There’s decluttering, reorganising, and rediscovering what I actually own, alongside some honest reflection on stash guilt, slow crafting, and the emotional weight that craft supplies can carry. If you enjoy yarn organisation, stash management, or calm “clean with me” crafting videos, this section is very much for you. The second half of the video turns to my computer desk: the administrative and planning heart of the studio. I clear papers, cables, notebooks, and digital detritus, creating a space that supports editing, pattern work, research, and project planning rather than fighting against it. This is less visually cosy than the yarn, but just as necessary for sustainable creativity, especially when returning to regular making and uploading. As with the first video, this isn’t a dramatic before-and-after makeover. It’s a realistic, ongoing studio clean up rooted in kindness rather than perfection, and in making space for sewing, costuming, LARP projects, mending, knitting, and slow creative work to happen again. If you’re also navigating a messy craft room, an unruly yarn stash, or the mental block that comes with too much stuff, I hope this video offers quiet motivation and a sense that you’re not doing it alone.

it's nearly Christmas and I got basically no tidying done this week (but I did make a stocking)
