Woman Blames Social Security for Unpaid Rent — Then Rudely Walks Out on the Judge

Tracy Roberts came back to eviction court owing thousands in unpaid rent, telling the judge her Social Security benefits had been delayed and were only now being reinstated. She also complained about heat and repair issues, then raised a CARES Act notice argument that led the judge to dismiss the eviction case and require the landlord to start over with a thirty-day notice. But even after getting that result, Roberts kept interrupting the judge, told the landlord she would “make hers difficult,” and walked away while the judge was still speaking.
