The president of the National Association of Agricultural Professionals (ANPA), Tito Hernández, asserted this Monday that the police intervention during the protest held by members of the association was a "planned" action and announced that the organization is considering legal action against the Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, and the head of the National Police in the National District. During an interview on the program "La Opción de la Mañana," Hernández stated that "All of this was planned," arguing that the Minister of the Interior and Police refused twice to accept notification of the demonstration. He also claimed to have received a call from General Gabriel de los Santos García, the National District police chief, which he described as "threatening and intimidating." The ANPA president indicated that the association will analyze the possibility of going to court, considering that what happened "was almost an attempted murder."
