General Oscar Jofre lived safely in the town of Port Stanley, with heating and a cook, while his command post, the Moody Brook barracks, was being bombarded day and night with particular ferocity. There, the garrison, commanded by Major José Baneta, a true father to his soldiers, held out. He had promised to lead them all back to the mainland. Baneta even grabbed a superior officer, Lieutenant Colonel Martín Balza, by the neck because he had endangered the soldiers at Moody Brook. Even today, Baneta grieves for the loss of three of his men, killed in a Harrier attack on June 11.
