[4K] Berlins alte Mitte #1 - vom Alexanderplatz zum Nikolaiviertel - ein Spaziergang vom 3.10.20

A virtual walk (still without commentary), through Berlin's historic center, from Alexanderplatz to the Brandenburg Gate in four stages. In this first part it goes from Alexanderplatz past the TV Tower, St. Mary's Church, the Neptune Fountain, the Red City Hall to the founding point of Berlin, the Nikolai Quarter. In case anyone is wondering, I recorded this tour last year, on October 3, 2020, on German Unity Day. From there, some smaller demonstrations can be seen (the big celebration had been canceled) and people are moving even more freely than at present. After all, it was still the time before the lockdown. This is the typical route for a city walk through Berlin's old center, as I often walk it with groups of guests. Alexanderplatz is an easily accessible meeting point, even though there is hardly any historical substance to be seen here. In former times the place was called Ochsenplatz and was a market place in front of the fortified city wall of Berlin. So from there on it goes through the historic core of Berlin. Originally I wanted to comment on the tour, but have not yet come to it and will film this city tour with explanations later in a slightly different form again. Now I'm uploading the video so that those who feel like it can first take this tour as a virtual "Easter walk" through Berlin's old center.
