(25 Aug 1960) One big attraction at Grasmere was the hound trail. While the dogs were away, there was pole leaping, and a new pole record was set by Jamieson, the holder. Then, the Guides' Race: the course takes them up to a crag nearly a thousand feet above the arena. It was veteran Teasdale who won. Finally, there were nearly 200 Cumberland and Westmorland style wrestlers.
