XOP 0.3 ~ ALPHA GAMEPLAY SHOWCASE

This is not a proper gameplay and is only meant to be purely for showcase. Without further ado, I'll explain more up ahead. This is an early alpha build of the original XOP dated back in 2001. It was found recently in the system11 shmup forum on the XOP series thread so I ought to give it a try and see what's in it. Though it's a demo with only 2 stages playable from the beginning, there's a lot of things different here before it gets a full releases in 2002. Not sure if we can get the 2002 version, rest assured it's not lost to time, yet. Here are the things in this build: The player can collide with all enemies in the game, this is also in the shareware version. However, the 2008 Revision of XOP and modern versions completely gets rid of enemies collision The player ship does not attract DAL coins, again, also in the shareware version. It has a level up system here when you collect enough DAL coins, I'm not sure how it works though. Stage 1 music originally used to play "The Ghost of the Past" as heard in XOP Black EX1 but with a different melody before it got replaced with "Thrashed" in the final game A grey border screen that wasn't presented in the shareware version, not sure why it was removed.
