Surfing Alone in Africa and THIS Happens

My first surf back in Robertsport, Liberia—and what a way to begin the trip. I arrived about an hour before sunset and paddled out with only two other surfers. Before long, they headed in and I was left alone in warm 30°C water, surfing fun lefts peeling down the point with thick jungle lining the beach. It was peaceful, beautiful and felt like I had the whole place to myself. Then, near the end of the session, something started buzzing me beneath the water. It wasn’t a shark, but it happened three times. I never saw exactly what it was, and after the third pass, I decided it was time to get out.
