Concealable body armor serves its purpose, and that purpose is to offer some covert protection from handgun rounds depending on the rating of the armor. There are levels I, IIA, II, IIIA each level offers a different selection of protection from handgun rounds. I have always used levels II and IIIA when talking about concealable body armor. There are also different cuts of armor from your vest style which is typically worm by LEO, to your plate cut which can be used in a carrier covert or overt and also a muscle style shirt with pockets for the plates. Purchasing body armor really depends on multiple factors, such as how much funding you have, what you are trying to stop, and how you are going to wear it.
