Come (non) parlare di disabilità: "L'abilismo è oppressione sistemica di noi persone disabili"

"Can I give you a kiss?" "You're so brave!" "I couldn't do it if I were like you. What's your secret?" These are just three of the WRONG questions I asked Elena and Maria Chiara Paolini. But let's take a step back: Elena and Maria Chiara Paolini are two sisters with a visible disability. I met with them in their office to talk about ableism, and we started with the wrong questions—those questions we often hear but which conceal an ableist idea within them, namely, the very oppression we must overcome at all costs, just like sexism, racism, or homo-lesbian-transphobia. And they explain it very well.   Saverio Tommasi https://www.fanpage.it/politica/cosa-...
