#kgmobility #actyon #hybrid Last year Korean manufacturer KGM (Formerly Ssangyong) launched the KGM Actyon, their largest SUV for the UK market, aiming to take on premium rivals, whilst offering more space & features for a reasonable price. Now KGM have introduced the hybrid version of the Actyon, using the same 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, but with a hybrid system designed with Chinese car giant BYD, featuring a small 1.83kwh self-charging hybrid battery pack & electric motor, increasing power, fuel economy and smoothness. The mid-size suv segment is one of the fastest growing areas of new car sales in the UK, with the impressive KIA Sportage taking the crown as the bestseller for the past couple of years, KGM have clearly took notes from Kia, with similarities in tech and excellent refinement. KGM have seemingly been highly inspired by Range Rover in terms of design, another Range-Rover inspired model is the popular Jaecoo 7, so far the bestselling car in the uk for 2026. Unfortunately the Actyon cannot quite beat Chinese competition in terms of list price, or economy in the case of PHEV models, however compared to the Jaecoo 7, the Actyon offers more passenger space & practicality. I tested the pure petrol model last year, which impressed in terms of refinement and practicality but was let down by poor performance and fuel economy.
