"Art and Solidarity: A Cultural Triumph at the Finissage of the Contemporary Art Exhibition at Villa Calvanese, Castel San Giorgio (SA)". The Finissage ceremony of the International Contemporary Art Exhibition, held on Sunday, May 31st at the splendid Villa Calvanese in Lanzara, a hamlet of Castel San Giorgio in the province of Salerno, was an event of great cultural and social significance. The exhibition, titled "Nel bel mese di Maggio" (In the Beautiful Month of May) and organized by the THULE Non solo doposcuola O.D.V. Association, attracted a large audience, demonstrating interest and affection for contemporary art and for solidarity with younger generations. The evening was opened by the Mayor of Castel San Giorgio, Paola Lanzara, and Concetta Caputo, a key figure in the THULE Association, who welcomed a diverse audience united by their passion for art. The event featured prominent speakers, including Maria Pina Cirillo, psychologist and art critic, Carolina Guariniello, president of UNICEF Salerno, and Swiss artist Peter Fraefel, who shared meaningful reflections and insights on the value of art as a tool for communication and social inclusion. The evening was hosted by journalists Anna Ferry-Ferrentino and Giambattista Rescigno, who, with elegance and skill, captured the audience's attention, creating an atmosphere of engagement and active participation. Among the most moving moments, the ceremony presenting the commemorative plaque in memory of artist Giovanni Cappetti (Giancappetti) to his daughters deeply touched those in attendance, followed by awards and recognitions that celebrated the talent and creativity of the participating artists. This 2026 edition concluded with a heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to the event's success: artists, speakers, institutions, and the public. The event reflected not only the importance of art and culture in our region, but also the power of uniting people in a message of solidarity and respect for the ecosystem, with a special tribute to the bee, a symbol of life and interconnectedness among all living beings. The evening left an indelible mark on the hearts of all participants, celebrating art as a universal language capable of inspiring and promoting positive change in society.
