Today, the quintet performs more than 20 concerts each season all around Israel, including its most prestigious concert venues, such as the YMCA (at the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival), the Jerusalem Music Centre, the Mormon University, Henry Crown Hall in the Jerusalem Theater, the Israel Conservatory and the Tel-Aviv Museum, together with educational activities, workshops for composers and several activities in communities outside of the state's center. In June 2017 the TAWQ will go on its first international tour in Switzerland. The quintet was awarded the Eilam prize for Israeli performers (2011). In addition to their work with the TAWQ, the quintet's musicians are also active as soloists, working and collaborating with international orchestras and musicians such as Daniel Barenboim, James Levine, Guy Braunshtein, Martha Argerich, Pierre Boulez and Andras Schiff. An integral part of the quintet's credo is to perform and record music by leading Israeli composers of both the younger and the older generations. Recent collaborations include Menachem Zur, Eitan Steinberg, Aharon Harlap, Arie Shapira, Amit Gilutz and Tzvi Avni. The TAWQ's debut album was released at the end of 2016, including works by Bach, Beethoven, Ari Ben-Shabetai (World premiere recording) and Piazzolla. חמישיית תל אביב נוסדה בשנת 2009 בידי מוסיקאים ישראליים צעירים המעוניינים ליצור יחדיו עשייה קאמרית משמעותית בתחום כלי הנשיפה בארץ. האנסמבל מופיע בקביעות והקליט לרדיו באולמות הקונצרטים המרכזיים ובסדרות הנחשבות בארץ: באוניברסיטה המורמונית, במרכז למוסיקה ירושלים במשכנות שאננים, באולם הנרי קראון (במסגרת הסדרה "אתנחתא") ובאולם ימק"א בירושלים (במסגרת הפסטיבל הבינלאומי למוזיקה קאמרית); ובתל אביב בין היתר בקונסרבטוריון הישראלי למוסיקה (שטריקר) ובמוזיאון תל אביב לאמנות. זאת בנוסף לפעילות תרבותית וחינוכית ענפה ורב-שנתית בפריפריה, מכפר-בלום ועד מצפה רמון. חלק בלתי נפרד מיעדי החמישייה הוא ביצוע והקלטה של יצירות פרי עטם של מלחינים ישראליים מובילים מכל הדורות, ביניהם מנחם צור, איתן שטיינברג, אהרון חרל"פ, צבי אבני, אריק שפירא ועמית גילוץ. בנוסף מקיימת החמישייה סדנאות ופעילויות למלחינים ישראליים ולסטודנטים לקומפוזיציה תוך שיתוף פעולה הדוק עם איגוד המלחינים הישראלי. נוסף על פעילותם עם החמישייה, חברי ההרכב הם סולנים פעילים המשתפים פעולה עם תזמורות בינלאומיות ועם מוסיקאים ידועי שם כגון דניאל בארנבוים, ג'יימס לווין, גיא בראונשטיין, מרתה ארגריץ', פייר בולז ואנדראש שיף. ההרכב זכה בפרס איגוד המבצעים לשנת 2011. בדצמבר 2016 הוציאה החמישייה לאור את אלבומה הראשון הכולל יצירות מאת באך, בטהובן ופיאצולה וכן הקלטת בכורה ליצירה שנכתבה במיוחד עבור ההרכב בידי ארי בן-שבתאי.
