「熱帯夜」に気をつけたい “3つのNG行動”医師が指摘【スーパーJチャンネル】(2026年7月14日)

There are three things to avoid on tropical nights. First, let's talk about how people use their air conditioners. What temperature do people in the city set theirs to? A person in their 60s (set to approximately 24°C): "I don't set it to freezing cold. (My wife) gets angry." A person in their 20s (set to 23°C): "Even at 23°C, it's hot on hot days. I wake up in the middle of the night." Families who struggle with air conditioner temperature settings every night… A person in their 30s (set to 25°C): "My husband gets hot easily, so at first he says 'It's hot,' so I lower it a bit until it cools down, then raise it to 25°C and turn on the fan." I keep the air conditioner off for less than 3 hours during the night." Next is bathing before bed. A person in their 60s: "I try to soak in lukewarm water." A person in their 20s: "When I want to sleep, I take a shower quickly and go to bed. Heating the bath is a hassle, and I don't have the time. I might fall asleep in the bath." Heat acclimatization bathing is a method of thoroughly warming the body to induce sweating, and then slowly releasing the heat. Dr. Hiromichi Ito, Director of Ito Oji Kamiya Internal Medicine and Surgery Clinic "I'm starting to sweat, and my face is getting smooth." The bath temperature is around 40℃. Immerse yourself in the bath up to your shoulders, within a comfortable range, and sweat thoroughly. Replenish fluids frequently to compensate for the sweat. Gently direct the cool air from the air conditioner onto my body with a fan or similar." Slowly lower your body temperature by directing the airflow. And finally, what do you drink before bed? A person in their 60s: "Drink a glass of cold water, and before that, have a beer... If you drink something with a strong diuretic effect, drink water or diluted fluids to compensate." So, what does Director Ito drink? Milk and yogurt contain nutrients, including protein, and minerals. They are absorbed slowly after ingestion, which helps prevent extreme dehydration at night."
