'Drift Árabe': a perigosa prática automobilística popularizada na Arábia Saudita

A new type of car stunt has gained prominence on the internet in recent days. The practice is called Tafheet, also known as Arabian drifting. It is performed on public roads in the presence of crowds attracted by the maneuvers at clandestine events around highways. The action consists of performing risky maneuvers, balancing the car on its two side wheels and performing controlled drifts from side to side by turning the steering wheel, all at approximately 160 to 200 kilometers per hour on public roads. In Saudi Arabia, the stunt has become popular among teenagers and adults who practice it without prior training or proper equipment. This popularity has drawn the attention of authorities, who have viewed the situation as a threat to national security and have adopted measures promoting surveillance campaigns, issuing fines, seizing vehicles, and imprisoning the driver without bail. Experts warn about the dangers of practicing Tafheet. “These maneuvers are highly dangerous; the right place to do them is on a proper drift track. Doing them on the street goes against all traffic laws and doesn't involve the use of equipment,” stated Roberto Manzini, a driver and driving instructor. Despite police action on the real streets of Saudi Arabia, the phenomenon has found a new space in the virtual world. Popular video games now allow players to simulate these radical maneuvers digitally. Authorities hope this technological alternative can reduce the occurrence of these illegal activities on the roads. ➡️ Follow more news on our official website: https://recordtv.r7.com/balanco-geral Our Whatsapp: https://balancogeraltarde.r7.com/what... and https://balancogeralmanha.r7.com/what...
