We've seen pseudo-experts online doing various tests without any prior knowledge or understanding of metal detecting, so we wanted to show you how the terrain can negatively impact the proper detection of targets. We used the Anfibio Multi as a reference, which in our opinion is still one of the best performing metal VLF detectors at depth, given the various comparisons we've made with other metal detectors... On neutral ground, the Anfibio Multi with a frequency of 14 khertz and a 3-tone modifier, gain 99, could detect a Vittorio Emanuele coin at about 40 cm deep... Here's where things get interesting: by changing the terrain, its compactness, mineralization, and humidity, the performance varies quite a bit.
