The walk circles around the plaza, including the newly opened eastern section, before continuing toward the new Jaro Public Market. 🌳 Jaro Plaza, formally known as Graciano Lopez Jaena Park, is one of the main public spaces in Jaro. In this walk, the plaza appears mostly renovated and open, with some smaller areas still fenced off or undergoing finishing work. The result is a cleaner, brighter, and more open civic space at the centre of the district. 🔔 The walk starts near the Jaro Belfry, one of Jaro’s most recognisable landmarks. From there, the route goes around the plaza, showing the new paths, landscaped areas, public spaces, surrounding roads, traffic, pedestrians, and the everyday activity around this important district centre. 🚦 After walking around the plaza, the route returns toward the belfry side and crosses the busy road leading to the Jaro Public Market area. This section gives a good look at the connection between the plaza, traffic, market streets, and local commercial activity. 🏗️ We then reach the rear side of the new Jaro Public Market by way of a back street. Construction is still visible near the rear of the new market building, suggesting that some work around the market area is still ongoing even as parts of the market are already in use. 🛒 Inside the market, we walk through the aisles where stallholders are selling fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, and variety items. The market appears to be in a soft-opening or early-use stage, with some vendors already trading inside while others still operate outside or around the building. 🏘️ After leaving the market, the walk continues southwest along EL-98 Street, then crosses into a back street community where local life is on full display.
