This week's recipe is "Pumpkin Mochi Zenzai"! Simmering the red beans and making the pumpkin mochi takes time and effort, but the deliciousness of made-from-scratch zenzai is priceless, so please give it a try this winter! [Ingredients (Serves 4-6)] 200g red beans 150-200g dates Salt, to taste 200g pumpkin 100g shiratamako (rice flour) Approx. 50g water [Directions] {1} Soak the red beans overnight, bring to a boil, then discard the water and re-boil in fresh water. Add water occasionally. {2} When the red beans are no longer soft, add the dates and boil a little longer. {3} Steam the pumpkin and remove the skin. Add the shiratamako (rice flour) and mix well. Add water as needed, divide into 15g portions, and roll into balls. {4} Boil Step 3 in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Zenzai is a sweet adzuki bean soup with mochi in it. It’s one of a Japanese traditional sweets. It takes a lot of time to cook, but it’s worth try it out. [INGREDIENTS makes 4 – 6] for the soup: 200g adzuki beans 150 – 200g dates a hint of salt for the mochi: 200g pumpkin 100g mochi rice flour 50g water 【INSTRUCTION】 1. Soak adzuki beans overnight and bring to a boil. 2. bring to adzuki bean with new water and simmer until it softens. Then add dates. 3. steam a pumpkin and take the peel off.
