I Thought 15 Lawn Customers Was Enough… I Was Wrong

When I first started my lawn-care business, I remember thinking that if I could just get 15 customers, I would be good. But as the business started growing, I learned something important: growth changes the way you think. It is not just about getting more customers. It is about getting the right customers, building the right route, protecting your time, keeping the quality high, and understanding that customers will come and customers will go. In this video, I’m sharing a real thought from the route about growth, customer drops, marketing, and why you can never stop building just because things feel comfortable. As your lawn-care business grows, you have to be wise about what you add. Every customer is not always the right fit. Every property does not always make sense for the route. And every opportunity needs to line up with the direction of the business. This is the business side of lawn care that people do not always talk about. We are still out here mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and taking care of properties — but behind the scenes, we are learning, adjusting, and building something that can last. Let me know in the comments: When you started your business, how many customers did you think would be “enough”? And if you are already growing, what has growth taught you?
