Beaded Tape Measure Part 1 - Circular Square Stitch - Beaded Rosette

"MY TAKE" on a Beaded Rosette using circular square stitch and Part 1 of the Beaded Tape Measure Tutorial. You'll make 2 of these and they will form the top and bottom covers to your retractable tape measure. You can also use smaller versions of the beaded discs in pendants, earrings or they'd make fab coasters. I wanted to 'pretty-fy' a regular, plastic , retractable tape measure that I could then use in my beadwork and the easiest way I found of designing a 'round' pattern to attach to both the bottom and the top of the tape measure was to use circular square stitch. By doing this I've ended up with something similar to a Native Beaded Rosette. There is also a PDF tutorial which shows detailed step by step instructions of Part 1 - making the beading rosettes, but in order to join the 2 together around your tape measure - all will be revealed in Part 2 on youtube!
