Seated Chair Yoga : For Lower Body Strength
Join me for this seated chair yoga sequence with a focus on the lower body. We will slow things down as we work to engage the muscles in the lower body. Of course, we still must bring our breath awareness and our core will be engaged throughout all the poses. We begin our seated chair yoga sequence with a quick check of our posture and then we will get right to it. We will start from the ground up and work the feet and ankles, before we move on to the hips and thighs. We will slow down the repetitions, hold the poses, and work to get as much range of motion as we can from the chair. We will finish with a couple rounds of our Chair Pose. Remember to always go at your own pace. Focus on the breath first, and then the movements. I create my seated chair yoga sequences and exercises while keeping in mind common mobility restrictions. I eliminate any loaded spinal flexion in the seated position as well as full rotation of the spine in the poses. Be sure to always do what is right for you.
