How To Fix Cash Register Till Not Adding Up Correctly Problem

'My till is not adding up correctly' is a problem as old as cash registers themselves. In this video we try and show what we would do if we had a till that was producing balances different to the actual amount in the cash drawer. Whilst it can be tricky to diagnose the cause of the discrepancy there are some steps you can take to prove that the till is adding up correctly. The first is to run 2 successive Z1 financial reports to set the sales figures for the day back to zero. Once you are at zero you can put through some 'test' sales, printing receipts each time, then run another Z report to see how these test sales have appeared in the report. This will help reassure you that the register is adding up correctly and it will help familiarise yourself with the rows of data on the report so it starts becoming less cryptic. The final step we take in the video is to run through some more complicated transactions and then establish how these affect the report.
