First IFR Flight - Carlsbad to Las Vegas, lots of IMC - DA40 G1000 w/ATC

Headed home from my first IFR flight. Had flown from Henderson (KHND) to Carlsbad (KCRQ). This is the return home leg. There is a great night scene flying into las vegas as we approach to land. My brother, also a pilot (non-instrument), helps me with checklists and sanity. Ran into some trace amounts of ice briefly, and a LOT of IMC. Almost half the flight was in IMC.
