Colonization ended but additionally opened a new door for new age colonialism in Africa often referred to as neocolonialism. When most African countries attained independence, they adopted the colonizers way of governance and even the borders. These ways have been used to promote neocolonialism even into the 21st century. The neocolonialists are also working with collaborators who have enhanced neocolonialism through donor funding which essentially promotes their interests in the different projects.
