Here is the full tutorial featuring a small tool called the Dreadlocks Interlocking Needle for only $1.99 (not sponsored) For so long I have retwisted my own locs myself with a few clips and a twisting product (lately I have ditched the tools and products except oil). The reason for this is because I have found comfort in twisting the roots of my dreadlocks and I have been a little fearful with interlocking my own hair. Today my mom Velvet Lox is interlocking my locs in order to tighten my locs instead of retwisting. PROS 1. Interlocking locs last longer 2. Great for active lifestyles 3. Hair stays neat CONS 1. Takes a long time to do 2. Makes it difficult to comb out locs if you plan to in the future 3. Very intense! You must know what you are doing or you may damage your locs. 4. Expensive to get installed by a professional (I googled some prices and the interlocking method can go anywhere from $300 to $600 - some locticians charge per length of hair) Overall my experience was very pleasant! The installation was completely pain-free and did not feel tight at the base at all.
