He first notes the dichotomy in the psalmist’s speaking of the Shepherd, first as merely Him but then ultimately You, indicating that the Shepherd has become personal. He then shows how David illustrates how we can have confidence in the Good Shepherd, going from what the shepherd does with for the sheep to what the Lord does for David and for us. In addition, he tells us that the Shepherd takes care of the biggest fear of all, the fear of death.
