Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. Although Aleksandrów Kujawski is a small town, it boasts an interesting history and architecture connected to its fascinating origins. Founded just a century and a half ago, the town was built almost from scratch. Particularly noteworthy are the buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the wooden houses reminiscent of Russian architecture. Among the town's most important landmarks are: Railway Station - The town's greatest pride is undoubtedly the railway station complex, which speaks volumes about the town's past and is inextricably linked to the town's historical origins. It also constitutes a cultural heritage element, shaping the historical awareness and memory of the town's inhabitants and the region. Its uniqueness stems from its function as a Russian-Prussian border station. The original station building in Aleksandrów, built between 1860 and 1862, was significantly less impressive than it is today. Despite this, its interior contained rooms intended for the railway traffic office, an international telegraph station, a customs inspection room, a post office, as well as refreshments, a comfortable waiting room, and guest rooms. Less than two months after the new railway line was opened in the Kingdom of Poland, the January Uprising broke out. Aleksandrów Station became an unwitting witness to one of the most important diplomatic successes of the insurgent government. In February 1863, Jan Karłowicz, involved in the insurgent resistance, and Konstanty Adamowicz, a customs house employee, intercepted secret diplomatic correspondence at the station in Aleksandrów, concerning the conclusion by Russia and Prussia of a treaty of cooperation against the Polish uprising. The publication of the document by the National Government proved to be a major propaganda success, compromising Prussia and Russia internationally. Parish Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Built in the neo-Gothic style. The church was originally a chapel built in 1886 by railway workers near the border station and customs house. In the following years, the church was expanded to its current state. Until 1918, it served as a branch church of the Służewo parish. On the main wall of the chancel hangs a 17th-century Italian painting, "The Crucifixion," depicting the crucified Christ and Mary Magdalene. From August to November 2009, the painting was part of the exhibition "Festival of the Baroque." Before being displayed in the Wilanów Orangery, the work was thoroughly restored. Conservators, although unable to precisely identify the artist, consider it one of the most outstanding Baroque paintings in Poland. Trojanowski Palace The Trojanowski Palace is undoubtedly a tourist attraction in Aleksandrów Kujawski. Currently, the building belongs to the School Complex No. 1, Practical Education Center on Wyspiańskiego Street. The palace stands in a picturesque park, home to 11 oak trees recognized as natural monuments. The attractive location of the park and palace complex, away from the city center, and the interesting vegetation make it ideal for family walks. #Railway_Station #Aleksandrów_Kujawy #John_Paul_II_Park #Water_Tower #Roman_Catholic_Church_of_the_Transfiguration #Marian_Szafrański_Municipal_Culture_Center #Municipal_Park #Trojanowski_Palace #School_Complex_No._1_Practical_Training_Center #Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship #kretesciezkipawelszulc1960 Recommended channels: @SznurkowepasjeJoanny1964 @wszedobylskasamochwala @Kam-An_na_weekend
