Long before smartphones, shopping malls, and today's hectic pace, Mexico City had a way of life centered around the neighborhood, the market, family, and neighbors. In this video, we recall 15 scenes that defined the childhood and daily lives of millions of Mexico City residents during the 1980s: freshly baked bread at dawn, cartoons on Canal Once, street parties, sports games, packed subways, neighborhood fairs, Sundays in Chapultepec Park, open-air markets, single-screen movie theaters, and the solidarity that blossomed during the most difficult times.
