Strongman Magoo stone lift challenge during The Gathering VI Donald Dinnie Day 2022 in Scotland

The start of The Gathering VI - Donald Dinnie Day Games at Potarch in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, home of the famous Dinnie Stones. After the opening march, competitors take part in the first challenge, the Gordon Dinnie Magoo Stone Challenge. The stone weighs 102kg (224lbs) and is named the 'Magoo' stone. This event is designed to showcase what is probably the most common modern form of natural stone lifting in Scotland, the stone to shoulder lift. Competitors have 75 seconds to complete as many reps as possible, with the stone starting on the ground and finishing once held on one shoulder , while the remaining free hand is removed from the stone. Only chalk may be used to assist the lift in this competition. This was during the Donald Dinnie Day, The Gathering VI, on Sunday 7th August 2022. Not all competitors chose to participate in this first event, as points were awarded through the day for several different types of strength events.
