Bangladesh recorded an estimated Tk 12,633 crore in bribery transactions across public service sectors during the first year of the interim government, according to a Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) survey. The report found that corruption and bribery increased significantly compared to previous years, with passport services, BRTA, law enforcement, land administration, and the judiciary remaining among the most affected sectors. More than 81% of surveyed households believe obtaining government services without paying bribes is nearly impossible.
