DH 53 Hummingbird Parasite Fighter
This is the first of our videos featuring aircraft from the Moth 600 gathering at Old Warden aerodrome. The Dh53 is a very rare aircraft that has been painstakingly restored by Terry Pankhurst and is now almost ready for flight. Terry explains about its history and use as a trial parasite fighter attached to airships in the 1920s. Of particular interest is the airship connecting mechanism totally rebuilt from scratch by Terry.
