History of Shri Doom Devta Maharaj🚩 According to folklore, many years ago, there was a man named Shura, a resident of Shara village in the Ritesh state. Even at a very old age, he had no children. Therefore, he and his wife settled in Himri village. Distressed by their childlessness, they prayed to Mata Hatkoti for a boon. A bright son was born to them, who later became known as Doom Devta. Devta Sahib is called Mata Hatkoti's boon. Unfortunately, when the boy was about 10 years old, his parents passed away. After this, the boy began living alone and became a servant under the Rana of Darkoti, where he was given the task of herding cows, sheep, and goats. This work left him no time to play, a time for play. But he was miraculous. He wasn't fully aware of his powers as a child. He would use his powers to make all the sheep, goats, and cows sit quietly and play with himself. For some time, all the sheep, goats, and cows hadn't eaten, stunned by the boy's powers. Consequently, their milk-producing capacity had also declined. When the Rana's wife investigated, she discovered that the boy was doing this. He would make all the animals sit and play with himself. She told the Rana to fire him, saying he was the reason for all this. The Rana, thinking he was a small child, dismissed the queen's request. One day, when the boy asked the queen for food, she taunted him, saying, "You're asking for food as if you've beheaded Nandu Dwal." (The famous Khund Tahu was a place at that time, and Nandu Dwal, a resident of that place, was at enmity with the Rana Sahib of Darkoti). The boy resolved to complete this task and return. The boy set off for Tahu. Upon reaching Tahu, he asked where Nandu Dwal's house was. Everyone showed him Nandu Dwal's house. His wife was there, so the boy asked, "Where is Nandu Dwal?" He said, "I know him and want to meet him." His wife, without knowing anything, replied, "He's gone to the forest to cut wood." The boy said, "I'll meet him there in the forest." When they met Nandu Dwal in the forest, the boy cleverly said, "You don't know me, your wife knows me; I'm his relative." Nandu Dwal agreed, and the two sat down to smoke. The boy said, "Please smoke first, then I will." As soon as Nandu Dwal bent down to smoke, the boy, without delay, severed his head from his body. He then took the head to the court of the Rana of Darkoti. This astonished the Rana and his wife, as Tahu himself was very powerful. On one hand, they were filled with joy, and on the other, they were afraid that they would have to prepare for the next challenge. The Rana's wife lovingly fed the boy a meal of ghee and told him to leave, as Tahu's men would be coming looking for him. So, the boy set off for Himari. Gradually, the boy grew up and became a powerful man, an expert moneylender. It is believed that during the time of the Turks' rule, Devta went to Delhi for a competition. Devta Sahib was interested in bow and arrow. He went to Delhi. He performed well there and won the competition. He was presented with two large gold-filled pots as a gift. The queen presented him with a gold necklace, and he left Delhi for Himari. Meanwhile, a war broke out between Rajana and Kumarsen due to family disputes. Rajana's Rana asked the Doom deity to fight on his side. He agreed and went to war. Kumarsen suffered repeated defeats, leading the Rana to ask a lama, "What was the reason for our repeated defeats?" The lama explained that as long as the Doom deity was fighting on Rajana's side, it was difficult to defeat him. He had to defeat him first. He asked the lama to consecrate an arrow made of forbidden materials and shoot it at him. As soon as the arrow struck him, he died. After this, he attained divinity, meaning he was worshipped as a deity after some time.
