Fuzzy cognitive maps to conceptualize complex problems
TABLE OF CONTENTS - BELOW Fuzzy cognitive maps to conceptualize complex problems Dr. Steven Gray, Michigan State University Dr. Gray is an ecologist and a leader in the field of participatory modeling - an approach to socio-ecological modeling that leverages concepts such as collective wisdom/intelligence, wisdom of the crowd and co-production of research. His work is inspired by a desire to foster good decision-making regarding complex problems so as to maximize the efficacy of the decision and the satisfaction of the stakeholders involved. Here he explains and illustrates these principles and describes a decision-support tool that is based on fuzzy cognitive mapping as a means of problem/system formulation and analysis. 00:00 Speaker introduction (Hector Quemada, Ph.
