I traveled to Shizuoka for the second week in a row. This time, I visited Fujinomiya City, famous for its Fujinomiya yakisoba. Located at the foot of Mount Fuji, Fujinomiya City is said to be a relatively cool place, even within Shizuoka Prefecture. Since I had a tough time camping in my car during the scorching heat last time, this time I camped in my car at the cool, high-altitude Asagiri Roadside Station. I visited Sengen Shrine, a sacred power spot, and enjoyed Fujinomiya yakisoba and Ideboku gelato. Shiraito Falls was also beautiful and impressive! It's also perfect for summer sightseeing, as you can enjoy the coolness! I highly recommend it! Here's information about the Fujinomiya yakisoba restaurant introduced in the video. It's not a famous restaurant that gets featured in magazines or the media, but you can enjoy authentic, traditional "Fujinomiya yakisoba." Neither restaurant has a website, so I'll give a brief explanation. ■Yama-chan (where we ate during our car party) 53 Maiyoki-cho, Fujinomiya City Hours: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Closed: Mondays It's relatively close to "Hana no Yu," where we took a bath this time. It might feel like an izakaya, but it's not. It's more of a restaurant where you can drink alcohol. (lol) They're open during lunch hours, and they're happy to accommodate takeout orders. Previously run by an elderly couple, it's now run by a single grandmother. ■Banban (I actually visited this time, but couldn't buy anything outside of opening hours.) 1159-41 Yodo-shi, Fujinomiya City Hours: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM Near the 24-hour MaxValu Fujinomiya Miyahara store. It's tucked away in a secluded spot. There's a hotplate at each table, but the owner's wife grills food on a larger hotplate and brings it to you.
