Hi guys ! Don't Miss this video !! In this video, I troubleshoot an HP laptop showing 5 long and 3 short caps lock blinks, which usually indicates a RAM detection issue. However, the problem was not in the RAM section. During diagnosis, I discovered that the PCH was not asserting the PLTRST# signal. The line measured 0V but had high resistance (around 100kΩ). To test further, I injected 3.3V through a 10kΩ resistor into the PLTRST# line, and the laptop successfully powered on with display, bypassing the error. This repair highlights how important it is to understand signal sequencing and not just rely on blink codes. Good Luck.
